Anti – Ragging Cell

Introduction

As per the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and UGC Regulation on curbing the menace of ragging in educational institutions, an Anti-Ragging Committee is established in the college. The committee strictly follows the UGC regulations and ensures a ragging-free environment.

Anti-Ragging Issues

Any student or group of students involved in the following acts will face strict action:

  • Indiscipline, teasing, or rude behavior.
  • Disrupting academic activities of students.
  • Forcing financial expenditure on other students.
  • Causing psychological or mental harm.
  • Using social media to harass or abuse students.
  • Infringing on fundamental human dignity.
  • Physical assault or causing harm to health.

Functions of the Committee

  • Constituting an Anti-Ragging Committee.
  • Maintaining healthy interpersonal relations among students.
  • Providing information about ragging and its punishments.
  • Addressing ragging-related complaints and taking necessary actions.

Procedure for Prohibition of Ragging

  • Displaying information regarding ragging prohibition on banners, websites, and notices.
  • Conducting meetings of the Anti-Ragging Committee at the start and end of each academic session.
  • Organizing awareness programs and lectures against ragging.
  • Implementing surprise checks through the Anti-Ragging Squad.
  • Ensuring strict action against any ragging complaints.
  • Informing local authorities and police in case of serious incidents.
