Board of Extra-Mural Studies

The University had established the Board of Extra- Mural Studies in the year 1949 for adult education, extension, enlightenment through reaching to outreach people. The purpose of the Board of Extra-Mural Studies is to bring the University to the people by using the facilities and resources of the University for the Education of the adult population and the youth for their economic, social and cultural development. From the beginning BEMS organizes the Lecture Series for People, Extension Education, Need Based Programs.



In light of these objectives, BEMS organizes educational programs such as :-

    Board of extra Mural studies has always committed for providing learning opportunities to all people. The department had long held the belief that education is the pivotal for creating awareness and increasing conscientization among the masses to initiate major social transformations.

    OBJECTIVES

  • To organize awareness campaigns for instilling skills among people to become lifelong learners.
  • To promote cognitive skills to deal with information and knowledge for sustainable development.
  • To conduct lecture series, summer schools, need-based programs, and various courses for community.
  • To develop e-content, online learnings programs, MOOCs for community.
  • To conduct awareness campaigns, cultural programs for senior citizens.
  • To encourage assistance and coordinating the efforts of the academic departments, colleges, private educational institutes and NGOs in all forms of university extension.
